One Degree is a nonprofit technology-driven organization that is revolutionizing the way low-income families access community resources. Our mission is to empower people to create a path out of poverty for themselves and for their communities. We create modern tech-driven solutions that make it easy to find, access, and share affordable housing and nonprofit/government services.

We currently operate two major products: One Degree and One Home. Thousands of people in the Bay Area rely on One Degree’s core platform (www.1degree.org) to access health care, food banks, employment services, and much more. Through One Home (OneHomeBayArea.org), we are working to ensure every family has a safe and stable home by making it easy to find and apply for affordable housing.

We’re a team of 7 full-time staff, with a solid foundation (supported by Google, Y Combinator, the Kresge Foundation, Tipping Point Community, and many others). We are growing our Resource Management team to support resource needs throughout California and beyond. As a Resource Coordinator at One Degree, you will engage community based organizations and support our remote team to expand our resource database (70%). And you will connect thousands of low-income families to the resources they need through direct customer support (30%).

As a Resource Coordinator you will…

  • use our online tools to field and respond to inbound questions from families and individuals looking for and needing access to social services like housing, job training, health services and more.
  • help us expand our database to include 5,000 new California resources.
  • conduct research over the phone or the internet to ensure resource information.
  • organize and deliver training, assignments and updates for remote team of independent contractors.
  • write online content about social service topics.
  • research poverty-related community issues and social service organizations throughout California.
  • update and report resource metrics.
  • motivate community based organizations to partner with us.


If you are…

  • an excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • a proficient reader and writer in Spanish.
  • solutions and detail oriented.
  • comfortable with technology.
  • a skillful multi-tasker and fast learner.

And have…

  • background in/strong knowledge of the nonprofit and social service sector.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in an office environment.
  • experience in online customer service/support.
  • exceptional writing skills.
  • high proficiency with Excel/Google Spreadsheets.
